Our Philosophy

At My Maine Adventure we have a unique way of looking at your adventure.

We believe that camping doesn't have to be uncomfortable. It is our responsibility to maintain your comfort level, as best we can, during your trip and there is almost no effort too great for our guests personal comfort.
You may choose to rough it with minimal comforts or choose to be pampered or something in between.

To accomplish this we can supply everything except for your sleeping bag, clothing, and toiletries. Our specialty at My Maine Adventure is what we call "gourmet camping", by creating an atmosphere where clients can be pampered, while still experiencing the great outdoors.

My Maine Adventure can put together a personalized trip for 1 to 24 people with trips from half a day up to a week.

Because we believe that camping doesn't have to be uncomfortable, we can provide toilets, hot showers, and a relatively bug free environment, when at the campsite.
Our meals are hearty and delicious.
Menus are chosen by you and can meet any special dietary needs.

We enjoy teaching about the wonders of nature and can help you learn new skills or improve upon your existing ones in the areas of camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking, and survival.

Guide Bio

"My Maine Adventures believes that if a woman or girl wishes to become more self-reliant and skilled in the outdoors, she should have that opportunity to do so, within a group of her peers."

Jim Cornish, Registered Master Maine Guide, grew up in Topsham, Maine, and lives on acreage that has been in the Cornish family for over 150 years.

He has been living in and loving the outdoors, since he was a small boy and learned much of his wilderness lore from his grandfathers.

Jim's two daughters are involved with the development of all of the courses that My Maine Adventure offers.

Jim also holds a B.S. in Forestry degree from the University Of Maine and is Red Cross Certified in Emergency First Aid.

Our Mission

"Specializing in Developing Outdoor Skills Equity for Girls and Women."

Over the years we have been told by numerous girls and women that they wish to experience and learn the same outdoor skills that boys have been taught in organizations such as the Boy Scouts.

Jim Cornish, Registered Master Maine Guide, has been working with the Girl Scouts of Maine for a number of years.

At My Maine Adventure we believe that for women to feel self-reliant in the outdoors the most effective course is to start when they are girls and build on their skills and confidence as they grow.
